September topic–May I Take Your Order?
The focus this month will be promoting independence. Members of the AAC Dream Team will host a “Food Truck” with snacks available to order. AAC users will be practicing how to use their AAC devices to order what they would like to eat. This is a skill that is helpful when out and about in the community and will allow for everyone to succeed.
Snacks that will be presented will be intended to be highly motivating to encourage independent selection. Parents, please plan to allow AAC users to make selections and enjoy the snack as a special treat. Please bring a snack from home if your AAC user has food allergies or if there is a favorite snack that is highly motivating.
Please like the Sharing Voices (@brileysmiles) community page on Facebook for updates about future events.
